About the Contest

Short Story Land offers international short story writing competitions that are dedicated to finding and encouraging the most promising new short story writers from across the world. Each year Short Story Land awards more than $2,500 in prize money for the winning short story submissions.  Entry is open to any writer who does not have an agent or who does not support themself primarily through their fiction writing. In addition to cash prizes, placed winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th prize) and Story of the Month winners are published on ShortStoryLand.com and are eligible to be published in Short Story Land’s 2020 Anthology of Short Stories, to be published by Myakka Press and distributed worldwide in print and ebook formats by IngramSpark.
